Residents and visitors in Las Vegas can expect breezy conditions along the Colorado River Valley, though winds will be less intense than the past few days. Dry weather will persist through tonight, with isolated stronger winds near Laughlin, Bullhead City, and Davis Dam, according to the National Weather Service.
Rain chances will increase starting Wednesday as a warm, subtropical moisture system moves into the area. "The moisture plume is of subtropical origin, so it is very warm, and for that reason snow levels will zoom up to between 9000 and 11,000 feet as rain chances begin," with light rain expected at lower elevations during midweek events, as reported by the National Weather Service.
The National Weather Service forecasts winds at Harry Reid International Airport shifting from northeast this morning to southwest by evening, staying through Wednesday morning. Most of Southern Nevada, Northwest Arizona, and Southeast California will have winds under 10 knots, except for gusty northerly winds in the Colorado River Valley, which are expected to weaken overnight. Mid- and high-level clouds will increase into New Year's Day. The National Weather Service said, "Spotters are encouraged to report any significant weather or impacts according to standard operating procedures." A warm, wet pattern is expected across the region as 2025 ends.
