Isai Anaya-Estrada, owner of Brothers Behavioral Health LLC in Las Vegas, has been sentenced after being convicted of submitting false Medicaid claims and not keeping proper records. Attorney General Aaron Ford said, "My office will continue to take action against those who abuse the privilege of receiving taxpayer funds that are supposed to help provide much-needed healthcare services to Medicaid recipients," according to KTNV.

The Attorney General's office reported that from January 2021 to January 2023, Anaya-Estrada and his company committed fraud by submitting Medicaid claims for services that were not provided. They were charged with a category “D” felony and a gross misdemeanor, as reported by 8 News Now. The Medicaid Fraud Control Unit investigated after receiving a tip about possible overbilling by Brothers Behavioral. Interviews with Medicaid recipients confirmed that the claimed services were not given.

Anaya-Estrada was sentenced to 364 days, suspended, with one year of probation and must repay nearly $48,000 to Medicaid for funds obtained through fraud. AG Ford said, "My office will always endeavor to bring to justice all healthcare companies and their owners who engage in such fraudulent billing practices," as noted by KTNV. The Nevada Attorney General's Office has a complaint form for reporting suspected Medicaid fraud.
