Las Vegas will stay warmer than usual through Friday, with breezy northerly winds in the Colorado River Valley and the potential to tie or break long-standing temperature records. High pressure will keep skies clear and temperatures elevated in several areas, including Bishop, Needles, and Death Valley, according to the National Weather Service.
A cooling trend will begin over the weekend and early next week, though no meaningful precipitation is expected. Only a few light flurries may appear in the higher elevations of the Sierra in northern Inyo County, with no significant winter impacts, as reported by the National Weather Service.
Clear skies and light winds will continue at Harry Reid Airport through Friday morning. The same clear weather is expected across southern Nevada, northwestern Arizona, and southeastern California. The Colorado River Valley will have stronger northerly winds today that will weaken after sunset. Some temperature records may be tied or broken, including a warm minimum of 50°F in Las Vegas. National Weather Service spotters are asked to report any significant weather.
