Commuters on I-11 faced major delays Tuesday morning due to two accidents in the Las Vegas area. According to FOX 5, a northbound crash near Las Vegas Boulevard involving a tractor-trailer blocked two of three lanes after hitting another vehicle and the median. A separate southbound incident near Boulder Highway added to the traffic.
Nevada State Police said no one was injured in the northbound crash, though details of the southbound incident were unclear. Trooper Shawn Haggstrom told News3LV that the semi-truck in the northbound accident heavily damaged a concrete barrier wall.
Congestion built up for several miles, but by 8:50 a.m. northbound I-11 lanes were fully reopened. Residual delays persisted as drivers navigated the morning rush.
Southbound I-11 lanes reopened earlier, and traffic gradually smoothed out. Nevada State Police and emergency crews acted quickly to minimize disruption to the morning commute.
