Milwaukee and nearby areas faced a very cold Friday, with temperatures around 10°F. Strong winds made it feel even colder, with wind chills near -8°F and gusts up to 40 mph. It’s expected to warm slightly overnight to about 28°F, but windy conditions will continue, with gusts reaching up to 30 mph, according to the National Weather Service.
The National Weather Service warned residents about dangerous cold, saying wind chills between -5 and -15 were expected early in the morning and advising people to bundle up. Looking ahead to the weekend, there may be a little freezing rain early Saturday, changing to rain and snow around mid-morning, then mostly snow later. Even with these conditions, the National Weather Service said spotter activation was not needed.
Looking ahead, the next few days will have a mix of sun and clouds. Temperatures could reach about 48°F on Christmas Day. There’s a small chance of snow Monday morning and a low chance of rain later in the week, but overall the weather looks fairly calm and changeable, as reported by the National Weather Service.
