A 39-year-old Missouri man, Carl Ray Lee Foster Jr., is now under arrest, linked to a string of arson incidents in Dublin. Foster Jr. has been charged with deliberately setting ablaze two local businesses, causing alarm and prompting an extensive investigation by authorities. According to ABC6, a two-alarm fire engulfed E&H Ace Hardware last Tuesday night, fortunately leading to a safe evacuation with no harm to nearby establishments.
Details emerged around a second incident at a Marathon gas station on 215 W. Bridge St., where video evidence singularly pinpointed Foster Jr. as a customer entering the premises minutes before the fire commenced. As per the affidavit, Dublin police officers and Washington Township firefighters, responding to the fire alarm, gleaned from the telltale burn patterns that the fire was intentionally set. This was further affirmed by WBNS, reporting that an attempted intentional fire was discovered in the gas station's restroom, with surveillance capturing an individual's entrance moments before the alarm sounded.
The City of Dublin lauded the cooperative efforts in their official statement, commending the local fire department and emergency communications center for their unwavering dedication to public safety in the wake of these troubling events. Foster's involvement has brought him into the legal limelight with his next court appearance scheduled for December 12, as noted by The Columbus Dispatch.
