
New Yorkers should brace for a series of weather changes across the boroughs, with a 100% chance of rain expected today. There's also the possibility of a thunderstorm before 1 pm, followed by a temperature dip from 57 to around 44 by the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service forecast in Manhattan.
Similarly, The Bronx is also anticipating showers and a potential thunderstorm with winds gusting as high as 47 mph, as issued by NWS advisories. Dropping temperatures are a shared trait with Manhattan, as the day's peak of near 57 degrees will fall significantly in the Bronx as well.
In Brooklyn, the forecast shows a similar pattern, topping at 56 degrees before it plummets. In the evening, Brooklyn residents can expect a chill as the temps hit a low of around 28 with wind chill values dipping between 20 and 25 degrees.
As for Queens, winds rival their neighbors with gusts potentially reaching up to 49 mph before turning west in the afternoon, as reported by the National Weather Service.
Staten Island won't be spared, with winds gusting nearly to the same level, and outer areas, including New York Harbor, will face a gale warning in effect from 6 PM this evening to 6 AM Saturday, as per the Hazardous Weather Outlook.
Looking ahead, all five boroughs are expecting snow on Tuesday with a high near 40 degrees and the chance of rain and snow combined being 60%, according to the NWS forecasts for Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx, and Staten Island. Christmas Day then could bring more rain as there is a 40 percent chance of rain across the boroughs.
Apart from the rain and snow, a Hazardous Weather Outlook has been issued by the National Weather Service New York NY.
