A North Las Vegas man, Harold Wesley Snowten IV, also known as “Insane,” was sentenced to 10 years in prison for illegal possession of a machine gun, firearms as a prohibited person, and methamphetamine with intent to distribute, following his guilty plea, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Nevada.

Court records show Snowten had six firearms with high-capacity magazines, including a Taurus G2c, MasterPiece Arms Defender, and a Smith & Wesson, all 9x19mm pistols, along with over 500 rounds of ammunition. His prior convictions in San Diego include possession of cocaine base for sale and being a felon in possession of a firearm. Although 130 months was recommended, he will serve 120 months in prison followed by four years of supervised release.

This case is part of Operation Take Back America, targeting illegal immigration, cartels, and violent crime nationwide. Officials from the U.S. Attorney’s Office and ATF announced that the operation mobilizes DOJ resources to achieve these goals.

ATF and North Las Vegas Police investigations led to charges against Snowten, who was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Dan Cowhig. Authorities seized over 50 grams of methamphetamine, a Schedule II controlled substance. Snowten’s imprisonment underscores the government’s commitment to Operation Take Back America.
