Bode's Corned Beef House, a Plymouth staple since 1959, will permanently close on December 19 following the sale of its building to an undisclosed company. The owners shared in a somber Facebook post that while no new plans are in place, “We hope to open Bode's Corned Beef House again if the fates allow, but until that opportunity arises, we want you to know how much we value you as a guest,” according to FOX2 Detroit.
Customers expressed sadness over the closure, reflecting on decades of family memories tied to the Main Street eatery. The restaurant has changed ownership several times, most recently in 2013 and 2019, but remained a cherished community fixture.
Bode’s Restaurant in Plymouth is closing after more than 60 years. The owners said the shutdown will leave staff without jobs and announced a Christmas party fundraiser on December 15 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Admission is $20 and includes food and drinks. They asked customers to visit for one last corned beef meal and said, “We truly treasure the shared experiences and laughter shared with all of you,” as per WXYZ.
