The Raleigh Police Department (RPD) conducted a DWI saturation patrol on Capital Boulevard to enhance road safety. According to the City of Raleigh, the patrol covered the area from I-40 through downtown Raleigh. Over the weekend, officers issued 130 DWI-related charges.

The operation involved multiple law enforcement partners, including the Wake County Sheriff’s Office, neighboring local police departments, and representatives from Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD). The District Attorney’s Office and the Magistrates' Office also participated. While the primary focus was identifying impaired drivers, officers were also enforcing other traffic regulations.

The saturation patrol resulted in 10 DWI arrests and 104 traffic stops. Officers also cited three individuals for drug violations, eight for driving with a revoked license (DWLR), and issued 40 speeding charges. Four people had outstanding warrants served, and additional citations were issued for careless or reckless driving, along with one weapon violation.

The Raleigh Police Department provided a detailed breakdown of the patrol’s results in a statement. In a city's release, Chief Boyce noted that the operation aligns with broader strategic priorities, emphasizing "operational efficiency and crime reduction strategies."
