In an exclusive interview with Raybec LTD executive Joey Litz, it was stated that the main priority is ensuring tenant safety while navigating the rebuilding phase. "After the fire, within 24 hours everyone, including Universal City, Implicity Management, BR Construction and Centerpoint Energy were able to get the remaining buildings unaffected by the fire back up and running," Litz told Universal City's news release. Despite the clear focus on safety, the rebuilding process is inevitably mired by precautionary evaluations and mandatory regulatory checks, expected to take between 6–9 months before completion.
The company remains vocal about its commitment to the displaced tenants and has taken several measures to provide immediate relief and extended support, including refunding December rent for those directly affected by the disaster and offering housing specials at sister properties, exemplifying community cooperation in times of distress Litz further expressed gratitude toward local organizations and the American Red Cross for their assistance to the tenants, "We plan to make donations to all the organizations that have helped," Litz said in the statement, highlighting a collective spirit of solidarity.
Decisions about the extensive reconstruction efforts, as per Litz, will be made in conjunction with municipal authorities upon receiving the engineer's report, the city's evaluation provides recommendations and subsequent approval of the rebuilding plans, this organized approach, while meticulous, is essential to steer clear from the risks attached to hastened occupancy, it's a process that necessitates patience from all parties involved; the residents, eager to reclaim their homes, and the management, working diligently to facilitate this transition "We will work as diligently as we can to get residents back home," Litz stated on the same news release.
