Repeat offender Luis Barahona Aguilar found himself in handcuffs once again after a traffic stop on Sunday, December 21, revealed more than just erratic driving. Deputies from Constable Mark Herman's Office were conducting routine patrols when they stopped Aguilar in the 10800 block of FM 1960 Road West.
Upon encounter, the signs were allegedly clear—Aguilar displayed multiple indications of intoxication. After law enforcement administered the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, their suspicions were confirmed, leading to Aguilar's arrest. His prior history with the law didn't play in his favor. Aghast, this was Aguilar's third run-in for Driving While Intoxicated, according to Constable Mark Herman's Facebook post.
The stakes were raised when the officers' investigation unearthed a stolen firearm in Aguilar's possession, adding a charge of Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon to his sheet. "Luis Barahona Aguilar was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Driving While Intoxicated -3rd Offense and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon," the Constable's social media feed stated.
The implications for Aguilar are not insignificant. In line with the weight of these allegations, his total bond was set at a steep $10,100.00 out of the 263rd District Court. Residents and concerned citizens are prompted to keep abreast of such developments and maintain watchfulness regarding the goings-on in their neighborhoods.
