The Hays County Courthouse is once again gearing up for its annual Christmas Lighting Ceremony, set to brighten the historic building and the spirits of the San Marcos community. Hays County Judge Ruben Becerra is leading the call to gather on December 3, diving headlong into the festive season with an evening packed with music, a stunning display of lights, and a special appearance by none other than Santa Claus himself, as reported by Hays County.
This year's ceremony, slated to run from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., features a diverse lineup of performances by local talent. The San Marcos High School Orchestra will open the evening with their melodies at 6:15 PM, shortly followed by the excitement of Santa's arrival and the courthouse lighting countdown at 6:40 PM. "This event is a cherished tradition that brings our community together," Judge Ruben Becerra told the Hays County website. "We look forward to celebrating the season with music, lights, and holiday cheer for families of all ages."
The festivities continue with San Marcos Mariachi taking the stage at 7:00 PM, followed by the Lehman High School Choir at 7:30 PM. The evening’s performances will wrap up with the Lehman High School Mariachi at 8:00 PM, as detailed by Hays County. Visitors are encouraged to bring their cameras, as Santa Claus will be available for photos throughout the night. The event is free and open to the public, and a large turnout is expected at the courthouse at 111 E. San Antonio St. Decked in holiday décor.
