During a routine traffic stop on Mendocino Avenue, the Santa Rosa Police seized a significant amount of fentanyl from a resident. In a news release shared by the Santa Rosa Police Department's social media, it was reported that officers from the Special Enforcement Team (SET) detained 24-year-old Andrew McCormick yesterday, after discovering he was on felony probation from a prior case.

The search, which complied with McCormick's probation terms, revealed 19 grams of fentanyl ready for sale and further evidence related to narcotics trafficking in his vehicle. The Santa Rosa resident faced additional scrutiny as the police extended their investigation to his residence, uncovering an extra 6.4 ounces of fentanyl along with cash, scales, and paraphernalia.

As a result of these findings, McCormick was booked into the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility on multiple felony charges. The charges include possession of narcotics for sale and transportation of drugs for sale, accompanied by a $50,000 bail enhancement.
