Seattle's First Hill neighborhood was the scene of a significant drug bust last Friday, when police officers, conducting proactive patrols near Harvard Avenue and Spring Street, arrested an individual for narcotics possession after discovering a range of drugs and cash in their possession, according to SPD Blotter.
The suspect, found within a vehicle sporting expired tabs and a shattered driver's window, was observed in a somewhat compromised state holding a glass narcotics pipe, and at 6:20 p.m. the officers moved to arrest them, with a further search yielding a variety of substances including 9.2g of Fentanyl, 7.3g of Xanax, 1.2g of Methamphetamine, and 0.5g of Cocaine; alongside $253 in cash and drug paraphernalia items like plastic baggies and two scales, signs of an operation beyond personal use.
Following the arrest, Seattle Police took the individual into custody, booking them into the King County Jail on charges related to the sale and delivery of synthetic narcotics. The recovery of such quantities indicates the growing concern over the presence of narcotics in local communities, and this operation showcases the Seattle police's ongoing efforts to confront the issue of drug distribution head-on.
