Montgomery County is lining up a new place to play. Dudley Sports Plaza, a roughly 75,000-square-foot, $8 million indoor complex planned near Kuykendahl Road and FM 1488, is set to bundle Slick City slides, padel courts and an Elite Pickleball training club under one roof, with phased openings expected in early 2026. Developers say they are targeting both serious competitors and families from The Woodlands and Conroe who just want to burn off some energy indoors.
Sports Developers is steering the project, and, according to Houston Chronicle, the plaza is expected to cost about $8 million and cover roughly 75,000 square feet. The Chronicle reports the site will house Montgomery County’s first Slick City Action Park alongside indoor pickleball and a padel operator. It also quotes Sports Developers CFO Ashish Wadhwani, who described the site as sitting "on the crossroads of Kuykendahl and FM 1488," and notes that the company acquired the land from the Howard Hughes Corporation.
What’s going in
A filing with TDLR lists about 21,000 square feet for Elite Pickleball, outlining an eight-court training facility with a pro shop and a targeted mid-December completion. A separate TDLR record for Padel Square details an 18,413-square-foot padel buildout under tenant Justin Huet Dastarac, with an estimated April finish and roughly $650,000 in interior costs. Both filings use the address 3905 FM 1488 and list Dudley Sports Plaza Woodlands as the owner.
Slick City and family fun
Slick City, a dry-slide indoor park operator, is slated to take the largest indoor share of the plaza. The company’s Woodlands page lists a "Coming March 2026" target, with slides, air courts and a junior play area among the planned features. The Houston Chronicle reports that the Woodlands venue is expected to span about 35,000 square feet, serve as Slick City’s third Greater Houston location and draw plenty of birthday parties and family events. Slick City’s site also currently shows a local contact and a hiring notice for the Woodlands operation.
Developer and the local footprint
The complex is being developed by Katy-based Sports Developers, which includes "Dudley Sports Plaza Woodlands" in its online portfolio. Local reporting from Community Impact notes the plaza is planned on about 6.33 acres along FM 1488, a stretch that has already seen a steady run of new restaurants and recreation-focused spots in recent years.
When it could open and what to watch next
Opening dates will not hit all at once. Tenant filings point to a mid-December target for the Elite Pickleball facility and a spring 2026 completion for the Padel Square buildout, while Slick City’s Woodlands page circles March 2026 and already carries a "Now Hiring" banner. Neighbors, prospective members and party planners will want to keep an eye on operator websites and developer updates for firm grand-opening dates, membership options and booking details as the project moves from permitting into full construction.
