In a recent operation targeting vehicle-related crime, a Vallejo man has been arrested, and six vehicles with altered identification numbers have been recovered. On November 25, the Solano County Auto Theft Task Force (SOLCATT) joined forces with the Investigations Bureau and Sheriff’s Enforcement Team to search a residence on Phoenix Circle, where they discovered an illicit operation dealing in stolen and tampered vehicles, as reported by the Solano County Sheriff's Office.
Found refusing to come to the door, after force was used to enter, the suspect, a 35-year-old from Vallejo, was arrested attempting to destroy evidence by breaking his cell phone and igniting a fire on the floor of his bedroom. Vehicles recovered at the scene included a 1966 Ford Mustang and a 1969 Chevy Camaro SS, both confirmed stolen, along with a 1967 Ford Shelby Cobra GT Mustang, a 2020 GMC 2500 Denali, a Chevy Corvette engine, a 20-foot Cargo King enclosed trailer, and a black car trailer with a custom Chevy frame, collectively valued at approximately $300k.
The suspect, whose name has not been released, now faces multiple charges. Among them are possession of a stolen vehicle, operation of a chop shop, alteration of a vehicle’s identification number, possession of a vehicle with an altered VIN, and destruction of evidence. After a thorough investigation confirmed the stolen status of all six vehicles, they will be returned to their rightful owners, as stated by the Sheriff.
