During a routine traffic stop last week, Vallejo Police Department officers recovered a stolen firearm in the possession of a convicted felon, who was subsequently arrested. The traffic stop occurred at approximately 2:22 PM last Sunday, after officers noticed an Infiniti M35 with a tint on the front windows near Tennessee Street and Broadway Street, violating the California Vehicle Code.

A statement released by the Vallejo Police Department details the subsequent events. The vehicle was pulled over near the intersection of Tennessee Street and Sutter Street. Upon contact, a records check revealed that the driver was on probation in Solano County for felony evading. Due to her probation status, officers searched for her and the vehicle she was driving. Meanwhile, the passenger was subjected to a safety pat search during which an officer found him to have a loaded firearm and another loaded extended magazine.

The firearm was identified as stolen from Las Vegas, extending the passenger's encounter with the law to include possession of stolen property along with multiple firearm-related violations. Being a convicted felon, the passenger was prohibited from possessing firearms and ammunition, which compounded the gravity of the charges that were brought against him. The individual was then taken to the Solano County Jail.
