December brings a variety of holiday events at Wake County Public Libraries for people of all ages. The libraries are offering several festive programs, all of which are free to attend. According to Wake County Commissioner Cheryl Stallings, the holiday events focus on "creativity and community," as reported by Wake County.
Activities include hands-on workshops, holiday music, and family-friendly films. There are opportunities for crafting ornaments, enjoying performances by Sproutsongs Music, and other seasonal programs for all ages. Families can celebrate early with a Noon Year’s Eve Party at 11:59 a.m., offering an alternative to late-night celebrations.
The library is also offering its annual reading guides. The 2025 edition of A Few of Our Favorite Things features staff-recommended books for adults. A new guide, Best Books: Our Favorite Books for Kids and Teens, provides recommendations for younger readers and those young at heart.
All events are free, though some require advance registration. For the complete schedule and registration details, visit the Wake County website.
