A recent strong-arm robbery at Smart Choice Pharmacy in Bensalem Township has ended with the arrest of three suspects. On January 15, 2026, police were dispatched to the scene at 1941 Street Road where the delivery driver was assaulted, and medications valued at around $16,000 were stolen. The medications included Mounjaro, Ozempic, and Trulicity. The culprits attempted a quick escape in a gold Toyota, which nearly hit a witness trying to document the incident, according to the Bensalem Police Department's social media post.

The prompt response of patrol officers led to the suspects' apprehension. The vehicle was located in the 3600 block of Street Road after Bucks County 911 Dispatchers issued a flash for the suspects’ car. Joshua Dupree, 41, from Tamaqua, PA, Jahnoi Dawkins, 21, from Albany, NY, and a 17-year-old male from New York City, were positively identified by the victim and taken into custody. A search of the vehicle confirmed the presence of the stolen items. Prior to the robbery, the pharmacy staff had received dubious communications, suggesting the assailants had premeditated the crime.

In light of the investigation's findings, Dupree, Dawkins, and the juvenile male were charged with multiple offenses, including Robbery, Theft, Receiving Stolen Property, Simple Assault, and related charges. Authorities revealed that the trio had traveled from New York specifically to commit the robbery. Magisterial District Judge Michael Gallagher presided over the arraignment of Dupree and Dawkins. Dupree's bail was set at 10 percent of $150,000, while Dawkins' bail was higher, at 10 percent of $250,000. Both were sent to Bucks County Correctional Facility, and the juvenile was remanded to Bucks County Youth Detention Center.

The Bensalem Police Department has praised the patrol officers for their vigilant actions. "We would like to commend the quick actions of the patrol officers for spotting the vehicle and taking the suspects into custody before they were able to leave the area to commit similar crimes elsewhere," said the department's statement. The community is encouraged by such efficient policing, especially as the incidence of prescription drug-related thefts has seen a disturbing ascent in recent times.
