In what marks a pivotal moment for Lincoln County, Governor Jared Polis, alongside the Business Funding & Incentives division of the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT), has announced that BHV Adventures, LLC is set to be the first business in the area to join the Rural Jump-Start program. With a focus on manufacturing affordable yet luxurious tiny homes on wheels, BHV Adventures is positioning itself to stimulate job creation and provide a boost to the local housing market. According to the Colorado Governor's Office, "By joining the Rural Jump-Start program, BHV Adventures will create good-paying jobs, support the local economy, and increase and expand housing options across the region."

The initiative reflects an ongoing effort to drive economic development in Colorado's rural communities, especially those that are economically distressed. BHV Adventures, which will establish operations in a factory space in Arriba, Colorado, plans to collaborate with other local entities, such as Arriba Cueball Trailer MFG and the High Plains Bank. They have also outlined their intention to work closely with Big Ben’s RV Park, sharing ownership under BHV Adventures’ proprietor. Ben VanderWerf, founder and managing member of BHV Adventures, expressed enthusiasm over the partnership, "We are excited to be approved as Lincoln County Colorado’s first recipient to the Rural Jumpstart Program," as reported by the Colorado Governor's Office.

The Rural Jump-Start program is tailored to fuel the local economy by offering incentives such as a $15,000 grant for business launch support and a state personal income tax exemption for eligible employees. These incentives are expected to encourage regional economic growth and workforce development, aid in the expansion of business, and help diversify local economic opportunities. The Lincoln County Economic Development Corporation (LCEDC) plays a pivotal role in identifying suitable businesses within the community and assists them in flourishing within the program and local economy.
