Sunfield residents are about to get a serious upgrade in the "something to do nearby" department. Tap In, a 7,000-square-foot mashup of sports bar and indoor golf hangout, is slated to open later this year in Buda's Sunfield neighborhood, promising a family-friendly spot to play, eat, and catch live music without trekking up I-35 to Austin. The concept pairs a nine-hole mini-golf course with golf simulators, a full bar, and a food-truck zone so groups can settle in for the long haul. Organizers say the venue is being built to be weather-proof and run year-round, giving locals a climate-controlled entertainment option close to home.
What to expect inside
According to Community Impact, the 7,000-square-foot venue will feature a nine-hole indoor mini-golf course, multiple golf simulators, a sports-bar-style menu of pizza and wings, and an outdoor patio with green space and a stage for live music. The layout is designed so gaming and bar areas are separated, which organizers say should make it easier for groups to play, watch sports, and eat without piling on top of each other. A dedicated food-truck pad will let rotating vendors operate from the property, giving regulars a changing lineup of eats.
Founder says it's for families
"We’re excited to open our doors and serve the people of Sunfield and Buda," founder Robert Wible said, describing a concept meant to appeal to both kids and adults, according to WhatNow. Wible told the outlet he started fundraising for a local entertainment venue after seeing other operators blend mini-golf with sports bars and virtual-golf simulators. He and the team say Tap In will be open 365 days a year, so weather will not dictate when families can swing by for a round, a game on TV, or both.
Designed by CoXist Studio
Tap In's interiors were developed by CoXist Studio, the Austin firm led by Frank and Megan Lin, whose portfolio spans boutique commercial and high-end residential projects. The studio emphasizes human-centered design and carefully considered finishes, and the owners say that approach is meant to help the venue feel as much like a neighborhood living room as an entertainment hub. That design pedigree is part of the pitch to make Tap In just as comfortable for kids' birthday outings as it is for late-night simulator leagues.
Where and when
Tap In is set to occupy Building 7 at The Corner on Main in Sunfield, and the local ownership group - Robert Wible, Samuel Lane, and Harlan Scott - is targeting a November 1 opening, per Community Impact. The team has already set up a web presence and social media channels to share construction updates and hiring news. If that timeline stays on track, Tap In is expected to arrive as part of a broader wave of new restaurants and entertainment concepts planned for the rapidly growing Buda corridor.
A local hangout
Organizers say the long-term goal is to keep more social life in Buda by offering an all-ages destination that can host leagues, family night,s and live performances throughout the year, according to WhatNow. The project already has an Instagram presence under the handle noted by the outlet, where it shares preview photos and announcements. Locals who want to follow hiring and opening updates can keep an eye on those channels as construction progresses toward late 2026.
