The Cabarrus County Library System has launched a new mobile app, available on the Apple App and Google Play stores, giving patrons easy access to library materials and services from their smartphones.

Launched earlier this month after over a year of development, the app lets users manage their accounts, track checkouts, and monitor holds and overdue items. It also integrates with digital borrowing platforms like Hoopla and Libby, allowing users to return e-books directly through the app.

The app functions as a digital library card and helps patrons find the nearest library. It also includes the full library catalog, monthly reading challenges, and staff recommendations to help users discover new books.

"Access and connection are always at the forefront of the services and programs we offer," Library Director Melanie Holles underscored the aim behind the app's introduction, expressing that it serves as an ideal bridge to reach residents outside the traditional library space, a statement made in an  Cabarrus County official release.

The Cabarrus County Library System, with six branches across Concord, Kannapolis, Harrisburg, Mount Pleasant, Midland, and Afton, is dedicated to connecting people with resources that educate, enrich, and inspire. It also offers a wide range of online research and reading materials for digital-minded patrons.
