In what the Citrus Heights Police Department hailed as a showcase of proactive policing, an alleged vehicle burglary was thwarted last night, resulting in an arrest and the seizure of a potentially deadly weapon. Citrus Heights Police Department's Facebook post declares that patrol officers stopped the crime as it was happening. Found within the suspect's vehicle was an illegally modified Glock, transformed into a machine gun, and paired with a high-capacity 50-round drum magazine.
Identified and now behind bars is 18-year-old Daniel Joseph Rudulph, who was on probation and legally barred from possessing firearms. His encounter with law enforcement led to his arrest and booking on four felony weapons charges. Caught with a machine gun, the suspect's time on the street was short-lived tonight by the patrol officers, as reported by the Citrus Heights Police Department.
The incident underscores the department's commitment, as they reiterated in their statement, to "stopping crimes in progress, taking dangerous weapons off the street, and protecting our community before someone gets hurt." This action reflects the ongoing efforts to curb the tide of criminal activities that can lead to more significant threats to public safety. Citrus Heights Police Department encourages the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities they might witness, emphasizing, "Your call matters."
