Clearwater residents and visitors should expect roadwork and lane closures starting Tuesday. On Court Street, three of four westbound lanes will be closed for about two weeks for sanitary sewer repairs, leaving one lane open. Drivers are advised to use Drew Street, Fort Harrison Avenue, West Bay Drive, or Gulf Boulevard to avoid delays, according to the City of Clearwater’s website.

Pierce Street was fully closed until tomorrow for stormwater repairs. Fort Harrison and Osceola avenues have had intermittent lane disruptions with flaggers directing traffic.

The Florida Department of Transportation is also working on several projects in Clearwater, including improvements to State Road 60 and U.S. 19. The Courtney Campbell Causeway pedestrian trail will have partial closures through late 2026.

Sidewalk and curb replacements along Island Way will continue, with paving expected to begin in February 2026.

Private construction projects, such as the Ballad Hotel, have affected Osceola Avenue by reducing it to one lane. Downtown parking is also impacted, as the old City Hall and 301 Pierce Street lots are being used for construction staging. Alternative parking lots are available throughout the area.
