Three middle school students experienced a harrowing encounter at a Crofton bus stop this morning when a man attempted to persuade them into his vehicle. Anne Arundel County Police swiftly responded to reports that the students were approached by the individual who insisted on driving them to school. As outlined by FOX Baltimore, this incident unfolded at the Crofton Elementary School's bus stop located at 1405 Duke of Kent Drive.

The students were approached by the male, who was driving a gray four-door sedan, between 8:00 a.m. and 8:20 a.m. According to the children's account, they did not recognize the man who had exited his vehicle to repeat his offer after his initial invitation to take them to school was declined. The young students wisely decided to run away from the scene, an action that may have justly secured their safety. The students eventually arrived at their schools, where they reported the unsettling event to school officials, according to WMAR2 News.

In light of this incident, Anne Arundel County Police are actively reinforcing safety precautions for students and their parents. They recommend that children always walk in a group or with another person and be ever-vigilant about their surroundings. The police also suggest that children need to be instructed not to accept anything from strangers and to report any unusual or distressing incidents to a responsible adult immediately.
