Whit’s Frozen Custard is on its way to Dallas-Fort Worth, with the Midwestern chain locking in a five-store deal and confirming that one of those shops will open in Aledo this spring. Two local franchisees are steering the rollout and say they want each spot to feel like a neighborhood hangout. For custard loyalists who swear it beats soft-serve, this is shaping up to be one of the splashier frozen-treat debuts the region has seen in a while.
One Aledo Store Confirmed
What Now Dallas reports that Whit’s CEO Bill Aseere has confirmed an Aledo storefront is slated to open this spring, although the exact address is still under wraps. The outlet also notes that Whit’s launched in March 2003 and has since built a loyal following around its made-fresh-daily custard. According to What Now Dallas, it plans to track the rollout and share updates as locations and opening timelines are nailed down.
Deal Covers Five DFW Locations
QSR Magazine reports that Whit’s has signed a five-unit development agreement for the Dallas-Fort Worth market, marking the brand’s first move into the area. The publication notes the deal is meant to serve as a starting point for broader growth across Texas. Aseere told QSR Magazine, “From scoop to smile, we sprinkle joy across America.”
Local Operators Will Run The Shops
Franchisees Connor Huffman and Jack Thornton, who sharpened their business skills at Escalante Golf, have agreed to develop the five DFW stores, according to What Now Dallas. The pair say Whit’s neighborhood-focused model drew them in, and they plan to tailor each shop to fit the character and needs of its surrounding community.
What To Expect On The Menu
Whit’s Frozen Custard’s website describes its custard as made fresh daily with about 10% butterfat and a small amount of pasteurized eggs, which the company says creates a dense, creamy texture that stands apart from soft-serve. Standard flavors include vanilla, chocolate, and a rotating option, along with shakes, sundaes, the blended “Whitser,” and sandwich-style “Whittie.” Each franchisee will set final menus and hours once their locations are officially announced.
Timeline And Neighborhood Impact
Outside of the confirmed Aledo shop, specific addresses for the other locations have not been released. However, QSR Magazine notes that the five-unit agreement is intended to establish Whit’s presence across the metro and could eventually pave the way for additional Texas stores. The franchisees say they plan to share site details, hiring news, and opening dates as leases are finalized, which could translate into a steady flow of job postings in multiple neighborhoods.
