
Antoine Turner, a 32-year-old DC man, has been handed a lengthy prison sentence measuring 26 years for a murder he committed more than five years ago, this conclusion coming after a plea deal was hashed out in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, according to an announcement by U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro. Turner admitted to the second-degree murder of Demeitri Anderson, which took place in broad daylight at the BENCO Shopping Plaza.
Turner's guilty plea, entered on September 5, 2025, agreed to a prison term between 240-312 months to be tailed by a supervised release spanning five years and the Honorable Michael Ryan found favor with the plea, delivering the maximum sentence as part of the agreement, the U.S. Attorney's Office reported. On the afternoon of November 29, 2020, Turner maneuvered a rented red Nissan Versa into a parking spot on the 4500 block of B Street SE before stalking the vicinity, ultimately confronting Anderson at Ken's Beauty Supply in the plaza where the fatal shooting occurred.
Interim Chief Jeffery Carroll of the Metropolitan Police Department joined U.S. Attorney Pirro in commending the detective work that led to Turner's conviction, highlighting the collaboration between the Metropolitan Police Department and the U.S. Attorney’s Office, which included efforts of specialists like Kelly Blakeney and Jennifer Clark; Assistant U.S. Attorney Andrea Coronado was applauded for her role in bringing Turner to justice.
Recounting the details of the crime, evidence showed that Turner had parked the car on B Street SE, then he walked from B Street SE to 46th Street SE, turned left on East Capitol Street SE and before reaching the BENCO Shopping Plaza, he entered the rear alley behind it he then positioned himself in front of the beauty supply store waited for Anderson and shot him several times in the back of the head and the body as corroborated by the U.S. Attorney's account.
