Two robberies on the 11100 block of Huffmeister Road ended with a convicted felon in the hospital and then in jail, according to Harris County authorities. Deputies say the man, identified as Levi Lindley, was wounded by a single gunshot to the leg after a business owner fired once in his direction. Lindley was treated at a local hospital, then released and booked into the Harris County Jail on robbery charges.

Deputies Describe The Scene

Constable Mark Herman’s deputies say they were called to the 11100 block of Huffmeister Road on Monday after reports that an unknown male had robbed two businesses. Witnesses told deputies the suspect wrapped his hand in green fabric to make the victims believe he was armed, according to Mark Herman’s Facebook post. One business owner fired a single shot in the suspect’s direction as he ran from the scene. An immediate search did not locate the suspect at that time, the post states.

Suspect Located, Treated, And Booked

Deputies later found an injured man with a gunshot wound to his leg and transported him to a local hospital for treatment, according to Mark Herman’s Facebook post. After he was released from the hospital, the man was taken into custody and identified as Levi Lindley. The constable’s office stated, “Levi Lindley was charged with robbery.”

Lindley, described in the post as a convicted felon, was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail. At the time of the post, bond had not been set out of the 262nd District Court, according to Mark Herman’s Facebook post.

Legal Context

Because the post notes that Lindley is a convicted felon, prosecutors could pursue additional weapons-related charges if evidence shows a firearm was possessed. Under Texas Penal Code §46.04, unlawful possession of a firearm by a person with a prior felony conviction is a separate offense. The statute is available online at Texas Penal Code §46.04.

The constable’s post also included photos from the scene and asked anyone with information to contact Precinct 4 dispatch. For more on the agency that handled the case, see Harris County Precinct 4.
