
The National Weather Service in Jacksonville, Florida issued a rip current statement early this morning, warning of a high risk of dangerous rip currents along beaches in Southeast Georgia and Northeast Florida. The National Weather Service advisory remains in effect through this evening, and beachgoers are advised to use caution when entering the water.
According to the National Weather Service, today will be mostly cloudy and breezy conditions, with a high near 63°F and wind gusts up to 21 mph. Tonight is expected to remain cloudy with a low around 56°F and a slight chance of showers early in the evening. Northeast winds are forecast between 5 and 13 mph, with higher gusts possible.
On Sunday, conditions are expected to improve with partly sunny skies and a warmer high near 81°F, though breezy conditions will continue. Sunday night brings a higher chance of rain, including possible thunderstorms. By Monday, rain chances decrease, with mostly sunny skies, cooler temperatures near 66°F, and continued winds.
The National Weather Service also issued a special weather statement for dense fog affecting parts of Duval and Nassau counties. Visibility may drop below one mile through the morning hours, potentially impacting roadways and waterways. Motorists and boaters are advised to reduce speed and allow for increased stopping distance.
