The Keller community has ushered in a new era of leadership within its fire and rescue service. During Tuesday’s City Council meeting, the city formally recognized the ascension of new top brass in the Keller Fire-Rescue (KFR) team. The meeting, which was described as a "fantastic night" by the Keller Public Safety in a social media post, was attended by community members who came out to voice their support for the newly appointed leaders.
Stepping into the top role, Chief Shane Skaggs takes the helm as KFR’s new leader, followed by Deputy Chief Chad Huntley and Fire Marshal Arturo Billarreal. In a sentiment echoed by many, Keller Public Safety expressed confidence in the capabilities of these individuals, stating that they will serve the Keller community with honor and do us proud. The turnout at the City Council meeting was reportedly strong, reflecting the community’s involvement in and support for the local fire and rescue services.
Chief Skaggs, whose responsibilities now encompass leading the fire service’s strategic and operational directives, comes to the position with a substantial background in fire service administration. Alongside him, Deputy Chief Huntley will provide support and oversight in various capacities. Fire Marshal Billarreal, an essential figure in fire safety and prevention, completes the leadership triumvirate, focusing on fire code enforcement and investigative services.
