A late-night trip to a west Fort Worth lounge ended in gunfire early yesterday, leaving three people hurt and police searching for whoever pulled the trigger. Officers say medics rushed two of the victims to nearby hospitals, and all three are expected to survive. No arrests had been announced as of Friday morning.
Police response and investigation
Fort Worth officers were called around 2 a.m. to a Valero gas station in the 6000 block of S. Hulen Street after a 911 caller reported a friend had been shot. Investigators soon linked the wounded victims to the nearby Cru Lounge, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Police told the paper that two people suffered multiple gunshot wounds, while a third person was grazed. Two of the victims were taken to local hospitals and were described as “expected to survive.”
Detectives from the department’s gang unit and gun-violence unit are handling the case. Officers say they are canvassing the area for surveillance video and witnesses who might help piece together what happened before and after the shooting.
Where it happened
Cru Lounge, listed at 6318 Hulen Bend Blvd, bills itself as a 21+ spot featuring late-night DJs, hookah and cocktails, along with VIP reservations and special events, according to Cru Lounge's site. The Valero, where officers first met the victims, sits a short distance away on South Hulen Street.
Nightlife safety and recent trends
Violence tied to nightlife has been an ongoing concern in Fort Worth. In October 2025, a shooting in the West 7th entertainment district left one person dead and several others wounded, according to NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth. After previous incidents, police have said they plan to work with businesses and regulators to review safety practices and enforcement. Investigators have also repeatedly urged patrons to share any video that might help identify suspects.
How to help
Anyone with information or video related to the overnight shooting is asked to contact Fort Worth police. The department’s contact page lists the non-emergency number and an anonymous Crime Stoppers hotline. Officers say they will also be reviewing surveillance footage from nearby businesses as they work through new leads in the case.
