
A man was shot and killed Saturday afternoon along the 2000 block of Watauga Road in northern Fort Worth, according to police. Officers responded to a 3:49 p.m. call and found the victim suffering from multiple apparent gunshot wounds. He was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.
How Investigators Say the Shooting Unfolded
Fort Worth police said a dark-colored vehicle pulled up next to the man as he was along the roadway and someone inside opened fire multiple times before driving away, according to WFAA. Responding officers found the victim with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body. He was transported to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Investigation, Suspect Identification and Public Safety
Detectives have identified a suspect but have not publicly released a name. The shooting was “believed to be an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to the public,” police said, according to WFAA. The Tarrant County medical examiner is expected to determine the victim’s cause and manner of death as investigators work to understand what led to the attack.
