
A house fire in Blair Township near Traverse City resulted in the death of a man early Friday morning, local emergency services have reported. According to MLive, Blair Township Emergency Services were called to the scene at approximately 4:20 a.m. to the 5000 block of Hall Road, where firefighters faced heavy fire involvement on arrival. The blaze was reported under control after about 30 minutes.
Following the extinguishment of the fire, emergency personnel discovered the body of an adult male inside the home. "Our department offers sincere condolences to the family affected by this loss," Blair Township Emergency Services commented in a statement obtained by UpNorthLive. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, but his identity has yet to be released. The cause of the fire is currently being investigated, with officials looking to definitively determine how to best proceed.
Moreover, the Michigan State Police Fire Investigation Unit has been brought in to assist with the investigation. The fire department was aided by various agencies during the response, including Paradise Emergency Services and the Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s Office, among others, who contributed to the efforts to manage the blaze. No additional civilian or firefighter injuries were reported from the incident.
