Mango lovers in Richardson are getting a new neighborhood fix. Hui Lau Shan, the Hong Kong-born dessert chain known for mango-forward sweets, is slated to open at Richardson East Shopping Center in spring 2026, with tenant buildout underway and expected to wrap in the coming months.
According to Community Impact, the Richardson shop is planned for 1601 E Belt Line Road, Ste. 100, with the opening window listed as spring 2026. Separate records from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation tie construction activity on the project to an estimated June completion.
From herbal trolley to mango mainstay
Hui Lau Shan traces its roots to a 1960s herbal-tea trolley in Hong Kong that eventually evolved into a dedicated dessert business, then into an international chain, the company notes on its website. Per Hui Lau Shan on its website, the brand leans hard into handmade mango desserts prepared fresh daily, along with fruit-based drinks, mochi and coconut jelly.
Dallas-area expansion
Records from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation show the chain has already opened its first Dallas-area spot at Carrollton Town Center, following a tenant finish that wrapped in 2024. Additional Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filings list Hui Lau Shan buildouts in Frisco and elsewhere in North Texas, pointing to a broader suburban rollout.
What Richardson diners will find
Expect a compact, quick-service dessert menu built around fresh mango creations. At other U.S. locations, staples include mango sago, chewy mango balls and a mango coconut noodle dessert, alongside a roster of fruit drinks and other sweets in the same vein.
The spring 2026 opening timeframe for the Richardson store was previously reported by Community Impact.
Hui Lau Shan's arrival would add another Asian dessert option to Richardson's retail strip and slide neatly into the wave of recent openings and filings from the brand across the Dallas suburbs. The company and the shopping center have not yet announced a formal opening date.
