Throughout January, the Patches of Peace Quilt will be on display in City Hall. Families affected by traffic violence created the patches to honor their loved ones and support healing for survivors, according to the City of Milwaukee's Facebook post.
The project was coordinated by the Coalition for Safe Driving MKE and supported by the City of Milwaukee's Vision Zero initiative. The quilt was sewn by the Clinton Rose Quilting Group.
This community artwork serves as a reminder for all residents to get involved in creating safer streets. It is a visual invitation to help prevent traffic violence in the city.
