A motorcyclist died in a collision with a pedestrian on Boulder Highway earlier this month. The incident, which took place on December 12, 2025, has been marked as the 160th traffic-related fatality within the department's jurisdiction for the year. Authorities report that the pedestrian, a 15-year-old female, was crossing Boulder Highway south of Nellis Boulevard in an area without a designated crosswalk, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
The motorcyclist, riding a 2023 Royal Enfield Scram 411, was unable to avoid the pedestrian entering the roadway, resulting in a crash that caused the rider to be ejected into the median. He suffered significant injuries and was transported to Sunrise Hospital, where, despite medical efforts, he passed away on December 23, 2025. The teenage pedestrian, though claiming to have injuries, declined medical treatment at the scene. Initially, officials did not call for the Collision Investigation Section to investigate, but after the county coroner reported the rider’s death, further inquiry into the cause of the accident was initiated.
The details surrounding the motorcyclist's injuries and subsequent death were recently disclosed after the Clark County Office of the Coroner/Medical Examiner contacted the police department, revealing that the individual had died from injuries sustained in the crash. The LVMPD Collision Investigation Section is now actively looking into the circumstances of the collision.
As the investigation progresses, details about the deceased motorcyclist have been withheld pending notification, while some information about the young pedestrian has been released. She is a local resident. The police department's report highlights the ongoing issue of traffic fatalities in Las Vegas and the risks involved when pedestrians and vehicles interact on busy roadways, especially outside of designated crosswalks. Authorities are continuing their investigation and working to prevent similar incidents in the future.
