North Ridgeville is bracing for a bevy of infrastructure projects set to reshape local roads, parks, and utility lines throughout 2026. Announced via a social media post by the City of North Ridgeville Government, citizens can expect preliminary fieldwork for the Sugar Ridge Road Rehabilitation and the new roundabout at Sugar Ridge and Bender roads, as engineering firms commence their surveys and designs.
Continuing with the developments, the Taylor Parkway Rehabilitation Project is currently attracting bidders with a deadline set for January 15. The city looks forward to awarding a contract shortly after, with a projected start date looming within the next month. Meanwhile, the Cypress Avenue Extension Project is unfolding as scheduled, with ongoing groundwork by Digioia Suburban Excavating preceding the start of utility work and a culvert replacement slated for later in the week.
Local recreation will be briefly disrupted as Root Road Park undergoes temporary closure for improvements, which they expect to complete by June 12. In line with essential services, Windstream Communications aims to upgrade approximately 30 miles of underground cable, targeting neighborhoods from Mills Creek to parts of Waterbury.
Lastly, a fresh face joins the city's council with Robert Holub appointed to the Ward 2 council seat during the January 5 meeting. These various projects underscore a broader effort to bolster the infrastructure and services in North Ridgeville, ensuring that growth and modernization continue to be hallmarks of this bustling community's journey into the future.
