Orange City's Dickinson Memorial Library, a community landmark for more than 100 years, continues to serve as a hub for education and local history. Founded in 1919 by Albert and Emma Dickinson in memory of Albert’s sister Melissa, the library offers residents both historical value and everyday resources.
The library, along with the adjacent Dickinson Memorial Park, was established as a lasting resource for the community. Orange City, FL – Government recently featured the library in a Flashback Friday social media post, noting its historical significance and continued service to residents.
Over the years, Dickinson Memorial Library has been added to the National Register of Historic Places, recognizing its architectural and cultural significance. This designation highlights the library’s role not only within the local community but also in the wider context of American history.
