
A pre-dawn fire occurred at a long-vacant warehouse in Houston’s Greater Eastwood neighborhood, producing thick smoke over nearby streets. Firefighters responded to the 800 block of Milby Street in the morning, and officials reported no injuries. The fire was brought under control in the early hours.
According to the City of Houston, crews were dispatched around 12:58 a.m. yesterday and found the vacant warehouse fully engulfed in flames upon arrival. Firefighters conducted a defensive attack, with a total of 64 personnel from multiple stations—including stations 8, 25, 23, 20, 17, and 18, as well as HazMat 22, Rescue 42, and Rehab 42—responding. The department reported that the fire was brought under control around 2:30 a.m., and a primary search of nearby structures found no victims.
