Raleigh’s Crabtree Creek Trail is now more visible after Raleigh Parks installed a glow-in-the-dark centerline stripe last year. The feature, running between Kiwanis Park and Atlantic Avenue, is designed to improve safety for walkers, runners, and cyclists during low-light hours, such as dawn, dusk, or other times with limited visibility, as per the city's announcement.
The city is asking for public feedback on the glow-in-the-dark centerline project. Trail users can take a short, 2–3 minute anonymous survey to share their thoughts on the paint’s effectiveness. Responses will help guide future improvements across the Capital Area Greenway System. Take the Glow-in-the-Dark Centerline Paint Survey to share your experience and weigh in on whether this feature should be expanded to other trails.
"We would like to hear from you!" Raleigh Parks announced, adding, "Your feedback will help us understand how helpful this feature has been and whether it should be expanded to other sections of the greenway." The city is calling on the community to share their experiences, hoping that feedback will lead to broader benefits. This survey serves as a test for a potential wider rollout of glow-in-the-dark markings to help athletes and recreational users navigate trails safely after hours, as noted by the City of Raleigh.
