Lewisville is gearing up for a shamrock and cowboy boot mashup, with The Reverend Horton Heat set to headline the upcoming St. Paddy’s Texas Style celebration. According to a City of Lewisville announcement, the free event is slated for March 14, from 1 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., and will take place at Wayne Ferguson Plaza. The day promises to marry Irish tradition with Lone Star spirit, complete with family-friendly carnival activities, food, and drinks.
Bringing their signature raucous energy, The Reverend Horton Heat, a Dallas-based psychobilly outfit, is set to hit the stage at 8 p.m. as per the City of Lewisville announcement. These rockabilly rebels have been known to always give audiences a high-voltage performance, pulling influences from punk to big band. In support of their album "The Roots of the Rev," the trio continues to carry forward their Deep Ellum-bred chops into another roaring live show.
But before the Reverend preaches his rock ‘n’ roll sermon, an array of musical acts will lay down the soundtrack for the day. The roster boasts performances by groups like Rathmore, Beyond the Pale, Texanadian, Scott Strickland, and River Driver, with Beyond the Pale getting festivities started on the City Hall stage at 1 p.m. All acts aim to freshly blend traditional Irish tunes with the heart of Texas country.
Eager attendees can find free parking available at several city-run locations, including Lewisville City Hall and the Lewisville Grand Theater. For those looking to map out their day, additional details on parking can be located at the Visitor Information Center.
