Residents of the 3000 block of Brandenburber Drive in Roseville were involved in a police response last night after a series of incidents were reported through police dispatch and a resident’s doorbell camera. According to a social media post by the City of Roseville, a man reportedly experiencing a mental health crisis contacted the police at approximately 8:20 p.m., making comments that were described as unclear.
Shortly afterward, a nearby resident reported seeing the same man on their Ring doorbell camera. The footage showed the individual saying he needed help and was armed. He was described as a possibly Asian male, approximately 30–40 years old, wearing a t-shirt and shorts and carrying a Glock-style handgun. He did not point or brandish the weapon at anyone and returned to his residence in the area. Responding officers established a perimeter and requested support from outside agency helicopters, but the individual was not located.
Officers attempted to engage with the individual and contacted his family, who were not on site at the time, as part of their efforts to deescalate the situation and provide assistance. The Roseville Police Department stated that no crime was committed and that the incident appears to be related to a mental health concern.
