San Antonio marked the completion of Four25 San Pedro Apartments, an affordable housing development offering 80 units for families earning up to 60% of the Area Median Income, including 25 units designated for Permanent Supportive Housing for households transitioning from homelessness. The project, developed in partnership with the city, Franklin Development, the San Antonio Housing Trust, and SAMMinistries, is part of the City’s 10-year Strategic Housing Implementation Plan and is located near schools and public transportation, including the future VIA Green Line Rapid route; Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones said, “Four25 is a testament to when public and private partnerships prioritize the well-being of San Antonians,” according to the City of San Antonio.
Jon Gary Herrera, president and CEO of VIA Metropolitan Transit, emphasized the link between affordable housing and mobility, stating, “The combination of those two elements opens new doors to opportunity for our community,” as residents of Four25 San Pedro prepare to benefit from upcoming VIA transit developments. SAMMinistries will provide on-site services, with President and CEO Nikisha J. Baker underscoring the project’s role in advancing long-term stability and self-sufficiency through comprehensive supportive housing, as reported by the City of San Antonio.
Residents of Four25 San Pedro will have access to amenities such as a fitness center, business center, and recreational spaces, supporting both wellness and opportunity. Veronica Garcia of the City’s Neighborhood and Housing Services Department credited the 2017 Neighborhood Improvements Bond—approved as part of an $850 million program that allocated $20 million for neighborhood improvements—for enabling investments that helped create 580 homes citywide with access to transit and essential services, as stated by the City of San Antonio.
