A Seattle man was arrested following a series of bank robberies after a robbery note was found in a thrift store changing room. According to KOMO News, the 49-year-old suspect was taken into custody after a Goodwill employee discovered the note last Friday at a Capitol Hill location.

The incident took place after the suspect targeted the Columbia Bank on Broadway Avenue East, taking an undisclosed amount of cash and leaving behind a note. Latent print specialists collected evidence at the scene, but the suspect initially evaded capture. A Goodwill employee later found the note in a changing room and contacted police.

Following the Goodwill employee’s report, officers reviewed surveillance footage, which led to the identification of the suspect. MyNorthwest reports that law enforcement located and arrested him, recovering cash believed to have been taken during the robbery.

The suspect was booked for the Columbia Bank robbery and an earlier incident at the Downtown BECU on 6th Avenue after detectives linked the two events. Seattle Police reported that stolen cash was recovered during the arrest. The SPD Robbery Unit is continuing its investigation, questioning the suspect at police headquarters to confirm his involvement in both robberies, as per OregonLive.

The suspect is being held at King County Jail pending further investigation. Authorities continue to review the case, with evidence from security systems and community reports contributing to the arrest.
