Seguin police and state troopers are urgently searching for 54-year-old Raul Arebalo, who disappeared Saturday afternoon and is believed to be possibly endangered. Authorities say he was last seen around 4:19 p.m. in the 3900 block of State Highway 123 in Seguin. At the time, Arebalo was wearing a T-shirt and dark-colored shorts and was carrying a camouflage backpack. Officials are asking anyone who spots him or knows where he might be to call 911 immediately.
The Texas Department of Public Safety has activated a CLEAR Alert to widen the search and pull in tips from across the area. Seguin police said Arebalo was last seen at 4:19 p.m. on the 3900 block of State Highway 123 and urged residents to call 911 with any information, as reported by KSAT.
What a CLEAR Alert Means
A CLEAR Alert is a statewide notification tool used when an adult between 18 and 65 goes missing and is believed to be in imminent danger or when the disappearance appears to be involuntary. It is essentially a public-safety megaphone, intended to quickly mobilize law enforcement partners and everyday residents in the hope that someone has seen something that can help locate a vulnerable adult or identify a suspect. For more on the criteria and how alerts are issued, see the Texas Department of Public Safety.
How to Help
Officials emphasize Arebalo’s last known clothing and the camouflage backpack as key details for anyone who may have crossed paths with him. If you have any information at all, Seguin police ask that you call 911 right away, as detailed by KSAT and the statewide CLEAR Alert guidance from the Texas Department of Public Safety (Texas DPS).
