Early this morning in east Las Vegas, a structure fire wreaked havoc on a two-story home that was in the midst of renovations. FOX5 Vegas reports that the Clark County firefighters were dispatched to the 700 block of Radwick Drive, near the crossroads of Bonanza and Hollywood, at approximately 5:12 a.m. The inferno quickly escalated to a two-alarm fire, prompting an extensive response from multiple units.
Upon arrival, the firefighters encountered a fully engulfed house. Statements made to News3LV confirm that despite the advanced state of the fire, first responders were able to save contents within the home. A nearby casita also suffered as flames spread, sustaining moderate exterior damage, yet all occupants were able to safely evacuate without injury.
The blaze proved to be stubborn, leading crews to strategically position around the entire property to meticulously prevent the flames from reaching neighboring structures. Adhering to a defensive approach, they deployed water to contain the fire, which they fully extinguished by 6:46 a.m. announced by officials, a total of 62 personnel were involved in the firefighting efforts.
The damaged home, unfortunately, has been deemed a total loss by Clark County officials. The origin of the fire is still under investigation and details will be released when they are firmly determined. However, no neighboring properties were damaged.
