Frederick County, Maryland, has recently witnessed the arrest of two teenagers following an armed robbery incident that took place last year. On January 6, 2026, the Frederick County Sheriff's Office confirmed the apprehension of 17-year-olds Albert Osmany Cambara and Gerardo Isaac Cervantes. The suspects are being charged as adults and are currently being held at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center, according to a report by DC News Now.
The investigation began after an armed robbery was reported on September 27, 2025, in the 5500 block of Foxhall Court in Frederick. Deputies were informed that a handgun was used in the crime, resulting in a boy being struck in the face with the weapon, sustaining minor injuries. Despite months of investigation, detectives linked Cambara and Cervantes to the crime and obtained arrest warrants for them, as WFMD detailed.
Alongside the charges of armed robbery, both teens face multiple counts, including conspiracy to commit armed robbery, first and second degree assault, and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony/crime of violence. The discovery of a Glock handgun loaded with an extended magazine during a search at Cervantes' residence piled on an additional charge of illegal possession of a regulated firearm. The search that led to the findings was executed at residences located on Wild Fig Court and Manor Court, notes WJLA.
The sheriff's office did not deem the robbery a random act, pointing to a targeted criminal intent. The authorities are urging anyone with further information to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation by contacting the Frederick County Sheriff's Office at 301-600-1046. As for Cambara and Cervantes, the debate surrounding the charging of minors as adults in severe crimes once again enters the local discourse, with these latest arrests bringing the issue to the forefront of community concern.
