Early this morning, a residential fire broke out in the Jonica Gap area, Union County. At 3:15 AM, Union County's E911 was alerted to the blaze, as reported by Union County Fire/Rescue & EMA on social media. Firefighters from the Union County Fire Department, along with stations 1, 4, and 13, quickly responded to the scene.
Upon their arrival, they discovered a home with flames emerging from the ceiling. It is a relief to report that all occupants were able to safely exit the building before the firefighters' efforts to aggressively tackle the fire commenced. In a statement issued on Facebook, the Union County Fire/Rescue & EMA team detailed the subsequent check for any potential spread of the fire throughout the home. Though damage to the property was inevitable, there were no injuries or deaths related to the incident.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, with no current statement detailing the probable cause. Support from both career and volunteer firefighters played a critical role in managing the situation. Art Miller, presumably a witness or a party involved in the fire response, provided pictures to document the scene. The visual evidence captures the reality of the night's events without artificial dramatization or embellishment.
