If you've been looking to combine your love for art with a spot of relaxation, the City of Raleigh Museum might have just the thing. Starting this January, the museum is launching "Yoga in the Galleries," a free program that welcomes yoga enthusiasts of all levels, from beginners to the more experienced. These sessions are an open invitation to anyone seeking to decompress in a unique environment. You'll just need to bring your own yoga mat, tools, and water, as per the City of Raleigh's announcement.
The program is set to be an ongoing event, with multiple dates lined up for the coming months: Jan. 18, Feb. 8 & 22, March 8 & 22, April 12 & 26. These Sunday yoga sessions, which run from 1 to 2 p.m., are designed to offer a chance to not only to stretch but also to reconnect with oneself amidst the tranquil settings of the museum's galleries. The museum is encouraging participants of any age to join in on the experience and has confirmed that there is no cost involved.
Guiding you through your poses and breathing will be Elizabeth Comtois, a registered yoga teacher and the founder of Embodied Yoga LLC. Her expertise is sure to guide attendees through a mindful practice that promises to be both nurturing and rejuvenating. With a setting surrounded by art and history, this program aims to provide a holistic experience that nourishes the body, mind, and soul.
